Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a first time camper, these basic tips will help to ensure that everyone enjoys their camping experience.

• Check-in time begins at 1:00PM and ends at office closing.
• Check out time is 11AM.
• Quiet hours are 11PM – 8AM. Campfire must be extinguished by 11PM.
• Prevent forest fires! Campfires are permitted only in the fire ring on the campsite. Fires should be attended and properly extinguished. Please do not remove the fire pit from campsite.
• The speed limit is 5 MPH throughout the campground. This is for everyone’s safety. Motorcycles cannot be driven through the park.
• Golf carts are not permitted.
• All visitors must register before entering the campground. Fees are $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child for day visitors. Fee are $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child for overnight visitors. Car passes for visitors must be clearly displayed in vehicle. Visitors must leave by 11PM. Tenants are responsible for visitor’s actions.
• Pets are welcome at Melville Ponds Campground. Pets must be leashed and under control at all times. Please clean up after pets. Pets must not be left unattended on campsite. Rabies certificate is required. Pets staying more than 30 days must be licensed with the Town of Portsmouth.
• Visitors may not bring pets.
• Disorderly conduct or profanity will result in eviction.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult when using the facilities. Children must not be left unattended at the campground without supervision. All children must be on their campsite by 10PM.
• Bicycles must not be ridden in the campground after dark.
• One vehicle per campsite. Extra vehicles may utilize designated parking areas. Please no parking in the roads or on the grass.
• No boat parking on campsites.
• Help us keep critters away by depositing all trash in the dumpster. Please do not place garbage in small trash barrels throughout the campground. Trash and recycling (yellow lid) dumpsters are located near the dump station at the front entrance of the campground. Please do not dispose bulky items in the dumpster.
• Please do not drain water on the ground. Collect in a container and dispose in the dump station or grey water wells. • Washing dishes or laundry in the restrooms is prohibited.
• Please respect your neighbors and other campers and use the walkways, rather than cutting through campsites.
• Cutting, breaking, or removing any trees is forbidden. Please help protect our trees.
• Clothes lines are not permitted. Community clothesline are provided for you.
• Car or RV is not permitted. Sponge bucket washing for seasonal campers is permitted with approval from office.
• No outside appliances are permitted.
• All campground buildings are smoke free.
• Fireworks are not allowed on campground property.
